Grey Wolves Knock Off Shredders, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring game between Vancouver and Hollywood, pitcher Pat Butler was excellent. The Vancouver right-hander helped his team knock off the Shredders, 3-1. Harry Richter picked up the save, his 4th. Vancouver goes to 38-24. The win puts them 4 games up in their division.
With runs few and far between, the Grey Wolves had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Vancouver came in the top of the third inning, when right fielder Mariano Juderías delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Frank Randolf and made the score 1-0, Grey Wolves. Juderías went 1-4.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Juderías. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
