Hurricanes Suffer 7-2 Setback
|
Cape Coral first baseman Ziad Fakhir had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-2, to Ft. Worth at Factory of Sadness. Fakhir went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ft. Worth pitcher Monte Evans got the win, upping his record to 4-1. Martin Elzey got the loss. Ft. Worth, now 32-27, holds down third place in the Silver League.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Tony Hernández? The Ft. Worth left fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Cattlemen on top, 1-0. For the game, Hernández had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I thought we played a nice game," Hernández told the Ft. Worth Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
