The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers had to overcome a good performance from MSL Buffalo pitcher Kien Ou-yang to claim a 3-1 win at MSL Pittsburgh Ballpark. Ou-yang went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner in relief was Phil Dyer. He is now 5-1. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Odwin Koens was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
Had Zhi-xin Chin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Chin hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Kingfishers.
Chin said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
MSL Pittsburgh is first in the PL MSL with a record of 28-19.
