Vancouver right-hander Patrick Davis pitched his team to victory over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen at The Cattle Pen. The final score was 6-1. Davis went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-0.
Vancouver relied on the bat of Xavier Ortíz to get the win. The shortstop ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Grey Wolves ahead, 2-0. For the game, Ortíz had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
In comments to the Vancouver Observer, Ortíz insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
