Fans of the MSL Panama City Piranhas who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a MSL Panama City win over the visiting MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds, 3-1. Sacha Fortunov started for the home team against Derrick Pearson. Derrick Pearson earned accolades for his performance. Max von Wildungen earned save number 1 this season.
The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the fourth inning, when the Piranhas were trailing 1-0. Eddie Jones delivered a two-out 2-run single for MSL Panama City, catapulting his team into the lead.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Jones said.
