The Long Island Ducks had to overcome a fine effort from Tulsa pitcher Phil Chamings to grab a narrow 4-2 win at Ballpark of Hughesville. Chamings went 7 innings and allowed 4 runs. Wikoli Niley got the win, improving to 4-4. He held the Otters to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 4. Martin Bates notched his 4th save in 4 chances.

Long Island used the bat of Ron Aitken to get the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Ducks ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"I thought we played a nice game," Aitken told the Long Island Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

The Ducks, at 36-59, sit in 11th place in the Menard's Low A.
