Baby Lakers, Gómez Pin Bad Loss on Shockers
|
With designated hitter António Gómez leading the charge, the Bompton Baby Lakers defeated the Surprise Shockers, 12-2, at Shockers Field. Gómez, who is tied for 5th in the 3A- in hits with 91, was 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks, while scoring 4 and driving in 3. Michael Temple, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 10 and walking 2. With the win, Bompton pushed its record to 58-33.
With runs few and far between, the Baby Lakers had to seize their opportunities when they came.
