Snowpeople Knock Off Ducks, 4-1

The Long Island Ducks and Ellesmere Island Snowpeople left the fans buzzing.
Ellesmere Island starter Tristan Liefting put a stranglehold on the Long Island offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Snowpeople to a 4-1 win. Liefting picked up the win for Ellesmere Island, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Roberto Gonzáles notched his 23rd save in 26 chances.
The Snowpeople got a big at-bat from shortstop Francisco Guerrero. For the game, Guerrero went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Ellesmere Island a 2-1 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Liefting told a Ellesmere Island Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
The Snowpeople sport a record of 31-51.
