Baby Lakers Sneak Past Snowpeople, 2-1
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers beat the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 2-1, at Field of the Browns. Starting pitcher Giustino Cotichini was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The Menard's Low A-leading Baby Lakers are 43-24.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Bompton trailing 1-0, Mark Hall hit a fastball from Roberto Gonzáles to right-center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Baby Lakers had a walk-off win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Cotichini said.
