Ducks Fell Crush, 5-1
|
Long Island Ducks starter Lorenzo Silva was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Flint Crush, 5-1. Silva, now 5-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The Ducks move to 24-33 with the win, while the Crush drop to 23-34.
Early in the game, left fielder Shigochiyo Kobayashi had a run-scoring triple for Long Island. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Ducks on top, 1-0.
Silva told a Long Island Gazette reporter that he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
