The Oakland Oaks overcame a good performance by Long Island third baseman Michael Jones to knock off Long Island, 8-4, at The Oak Grove. Jones went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Oaks now own a record of 27-21.
Sung-jae Hong was a prime factor in the win for the Oaks. In the bottom of the fourth with two out, the fan favorite hit a 2-run single. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI.
"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Hong.
