Bompton beat Long Island on the strength of starter Giustino Cotichini's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Bompton pitcher Dan Harris got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Charles Gallaher got the loss. The Baby Lakers' win now puts them at 27-18.

Bompton won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Charles Gallaher on the mound for Long Island, center fielder Mark Hall hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Baby Lakers fans to their feet.

"This place was rockin'," Cotichini said.
