The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople got a sterling performance from pitcher Jonathan Stewart, but the Flint Crush still prevailed, 4-3. Stewart threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. With the win, Flint goes to 19-23, while the Snowpeople fall to 14-28.
Flint used a clutch hit from Jorian Rebergen to snatch the win. The pinch hitter belted a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Crush ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Rebergen told the Flint Today. "You win just by scoring more runs."
