Shockers Snag 4-3 Win
|
The Surprise Shockers picked up a win at Alouettes Ballpark, taking down the Capital Hill Interns, 4-3. Starting pitcher Aaron Ellicott was a big reason why. Surprise reliever Adrian Taylor was the winner. His record is now 5-1. The losing pitcher was Ron van der Ploeg. Al Leonard was credited with the save for Surprise, his 8th of the season.
Surprise used a clutch hit from Ron Sullivan to get the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Shockers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The most important thing is that we won," Ellicott said.
Surprise is 6th in the Menard's Low A with a record of 24-18.
