Harbor Whales Turn Away Toros, 3-1
|
In a tight game between the Greenport Harbor Whales and the Tijuana Toros, pitcher Sib Gijbels was terrific on the mound. The Greenport left-hander helped his team to the 3-1 win. Narahiko Takahashi locked down his 1st save. The Harbor Whales are now 15-17, while the Toros fall to 22-10.
Making an impact for the home team was Gilberto Padilla. In the bottom of the sixth, the 19-year old shortstop had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-1, Harbor Whales.
Afterward, Harbor Whales manager Mark Tillman was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
