Loss to Baby Lakers Extends Ellesmere Island Losing Streak
|
Mark Hall left his imprint on the 7-4 Bompton win against the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople. Hall, who is tied for 7th in the 3A- in bases on balls with 17, was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Yoshihide Ichikawa recorded the save for Bompton, his 1st of the season. Ellesmere Island's current losing streak has reached 9 games.
Bompton used the timely hitting of Shu-yen Fu to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Baby Lakers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're in a funk right now," said Ellesmere Island skipper Dale Sunter.
