Shockers Top Baby Lakers, 5-3
|
Bob Stewart had a hand in Surprise defeating Bompton by the score of 5-3. Stewart went 2 for 3 at the plate, scoring 1 times and driving in 1 runs. The win belongs to Adrian Taylor in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Sandro Gonzáles took the loss for Bompton. Surprise bumps their record to 13-13 with the win.
Surprise used a clutch hit from Jim Williams to snatch the win. The third baseman belted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Shockers ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Surprise manager Júlio González.
