Baby Lakers Take Down Canucks, 5-4
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers dealt the Moose Jaw Canucks a loss at Field of the Browns. The final score was 5-4. Bo Nan was especially productive for Bompton. In addition to his 1 single and 1 triple, he scored 1 run and drove in 3. Bompton reliever George Luna picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Andrew Carlson took the loss. With the win, Bompton goes to 16-8, while the Canucks fall to 11-13.
The Baby Lakers relied on shortstop Kevin Smith for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the ninth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"I was a little disappointed," said Moose Jaw manager Bobby Buck. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
