Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish and the Redwood Rhinos. Plattsburgh won it, 3-1. Plattsburgh starter Freddy Rosas was in command. Plattsburgh improves to 62-26 with the win. They lead their division by 2 games.

The Rhinos had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Puffer Fish going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old center fielder Irving Ledesma came to the plate. Ledesma hit a solo home run on a first pitch fastball from Redwood hurler Tom Ward. It was Ledesma's 3rd home run of the year.

"Every loss hurts," said Redwood manager Dave Parrish. "But this was a tough one."
