North Ft. Myers picked up a win at The Beaver Dam, bumping off the Ballard Beavers, 3-2. Pitcher Barry Cuda was a major reason the Gators emerged victorious. Cuda got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Cuda allowed 1 run. Luis Pizarro locked down his 7th save.
Joshua Hill tagged a home run off Phil Krause in the top of the sixth. His 2-run blast put the Gators on top, 3-1. In all, Hill had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"The vibe's good," said North Ft. Myers manager Peter Williams. "We've got to keep it going."
Ballard has now lost 4 consecutive games.
