Beavers Lose Late, 5-2
|
Redwood and Northwest Territory got after it at The Zoo.
The exploits of first baseman Lou de Klerk, who is tied for 4th in the SA- with a .929 OPS, helped the Redwood Rhinos defeat the Northwest Territory Beavers, 5-2. de Klerk was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Rizal Culata earned the save for Redwood, his 3rd of the year.
de Klerk had a timely hit for Redwood in the bottom of the eighth. With Northwest Territory trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-2 slider into a 3-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season, making it 4-2, Redwood.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Redwood manager Dave Parrish. "It's usually not just one thing."
The victory gives Redwood a record of 42-37.
