North Ft. Myers Gators starter Chaim van den Akker was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Redwood Rhinos, 3-1. van den Akker, now 4-5, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The win for the Gators raised their record to 51-25.

Michael Crowder had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the North Ft. Myers catcher hit a 2-run single. That put the Gators in front, 3-1.
