Memphis Gets 9-3 Win
|
Starting pitcher Akil bin Abbud pitched well enough to help the Memphis Music beat the Redwood Rhinos, 9-3. bin Abbud, now 5-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. After today's action, Memphis sits at 50-25; Redwood slips to 41-34.
The Music got an important contribution from second baseman Zhen-bang Meng, who in the top of the third hit a 1-1 fastball into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Music ahead, 3-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Meng said after the game.
