Tulsa Otters pitcher Marc Clemow was in fine form, leading his team past the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 2-1. Clemow, the winner, moves to 4-0. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Ed Davenport, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 9th save.
Alfredo Ángel dealt the Snowpeople a blow in the top of the second. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Tulsa leading 1-0, Ángel hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Ellesmere Island manager Dale Sunter.
With their winning streak at 4, the Otters have raced to a strong start this season.
