Northwest Territory Beats Amarillo, 5-2
|
António Cardenas impressed in the 5-2 Northwest Territory win over Amarillo. Cardenas, who is tied for 7th in the SA- in home runs with 15, hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Víctor Rivera, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities. With the victory, the Beavers upped their record to 40-27.
Northwest Territory used the timely hitting of Larry Anderson to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Beavers ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Cardenas told the Northwest Territory Chronicle.
