Ballard got a terrific performance from pitcher Phil Krause, but it wasn't enough to beat the Ogallala Octopi. Ogallala won the Nebraska Aquarium contest, 7-5. Krause threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Ballard now has a 6-game losing streak.

Wei-fang Ping electrified the crowd in the bottom of the 12th when he took Ballard pitcher Rafael Balahadia deep. His 2-run home run sent the Octopi home winners.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Ping told the Ogallala Citizen.
