The Ogallala Octopi defeated the Ballard Beavers, 7-1, at Nebraska Aquarium. Ogallala first baseman Vladsislas Nizovkin had a superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Alejandro Martínes got credit for the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 5 innings. The losing streak for Ballard has now reached 5 games.

Nizovkin contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Ogallala in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Nizovkin took a curveball from Arnout van Hulst and stroked the home run to right. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Octopi to leap in front, 4-1.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Ballard manager Gerald Clark.
