Matt Dougherty could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Ogallala Octopi lost, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Redwood Rhinos at Nebraska Aquarium. The win was credited to Angus Galloway in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Matt Dougherty took the loss. Shafeeq bin Fakhry earned the save for Redwood, his 17th of the year.

Redwood relied on the hitting of Sandross Bañaga to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rhinos on top, 2-0. For the game, Bañaga had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Bañaga.

Redwood raised its record to 32-31 with the win.
