Nebraska Aquarium was the site for USSL Low A action featuring the Ogallala Octopi and Redwood Rhinos.
Ricardo Cantú was a major contributor to the 5-2 Redwood win over Ogallala. The Rhinos right fielder was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Yoshitaka Shinohara got the win, improving to 4-3. He held the Octopi to 1 run on 3 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1.
Redwood used a timely hit from Kenny Chamberlain to get the win. The second baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rhinos ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Cantú.
Redwood, at 30-31, holds down 5th place in the Silver Low A.
