Both teams had their chances, but the Memphis Music eventually prevailed.
The Memphis Music turned back the Ogallala Octopi, 5-4, at The Stage in Memphis. Seiki Araki, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Memphis reliever Jesús Díaz was the winner. His record is now 7-0. The losing pitcher was Dylan Snider.
Araki came through with some timely hitting for Memphis. With Ogallala trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Araki hit a 0-1 fastball for a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season made it 5-4, Memphis.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Ogallala manager Félix Cruz.
Memphis is now 40-17, while Ogallala is 26-31.
