Ávila Magic in 5-0 Shutout

It wasn't easy but the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish made it look that way.
Starter Ricardo Ávila shut out the North Ft. Myers Gators despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish cruised to victory, 5-0. Ávila allowed only 5 hits and rang up 19 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
His record for the year is 4-0 in 9 starts and Ávila has a 3.41 ERA.
