Cotichini, Bompton Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Greenport Harbor Whales home opener. Dax Marshall started for the home team against Giustino Cotichini for the Bompton Baby Lakers. The Harbor Whales were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 2-1, Bompton. Giustino Cotichini, though, was impressive. Getting the save was Dan Harris, his 1st.
The Harbor Whales had trouble solving Cotichini, who surrendered 1 run on 5 hits over 8 innings.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Bompton manager Júlio Villegas said.
