Hurricanes Sink Lighthouse, 7-3

The Cape Coral Hurricanes topped the Long Island Lighthouse, 7-3, in United States Silver League action at Factory of Sadness. The standout performance belonged to Cape Coral pitcher and Montgomery Village, Maryland, native Gordon Benjamin. Cape Coral's record now stands at 16-20, placing them 9th in the Silver League.
José Robles was 1 for 2 with 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Cape Coral. The 27-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Rich Baker. It was his 12th walk of the season.
"I liked his command," said Cape Coral manager Greg Diersing. "Gordon was throwing strikes."
