de Klerk Hits 2 home runs in Rhinos Win
|
The Redwood Rhinos defeated the Germantown Uruguayans, 6-2. Doing his part was first baseman Lou de Klerk, who slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Redwood pitcher Ramiro Ramírez got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Carlos López got the loss. Rizal Culata was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Redwood relied on the hitting of Sandross Bañaga to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Rhinos on top, 3-0. For the game, Bañaga had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
de Klerk said his team "played with determination."
The last-place Uruguayans have dropped 19 straight games.
