Music Down Uruguayans, 4-1
|
Memphis Music pitcher Henry Phipps was in fine form, leading his team past the Germantown Uruguayans, 4-1. The Uruguayans, now 2-20, have lost 16 straight.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Seiki Araki came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Germantown pitcher Thatcher Howard, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Memphis on top, 3-1.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Jorge Carranza.
