Oakland Oaks starter Miguel Velázquez turned in an exceptional performance against the Baltimore Bullets at The Oak Grove, resulting in a Oakland win, 4-1. Velázquez, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Earning his 2nd save for Oakland was Urmas Koskela.

The Bullets had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Oaks going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old center fielder Clive Swanton came to the plate. Swanton hit a 3-run home run on a 2-2 sinker from Baltimore hurler Perry Cox. It was Swanton's 2nd home run of the year.

"I still think this team can play even better," Velázquez told the Oakland Gazette.

The Bullets, now 19-15, have lost 5 in a row.
