Octopi Scratch and Claw to 6-4 Win
|
Bethlehem pinch hitter Henry Wakeham was sensational. He went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Ogallala beat the Angel Kitties, 6-4. Ogallala reliever Vincente Pérez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jeremy Ramos was saddled with the loss. Nick Price closed the door for Ogallala, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Ogallala used the clutch hitting of Quinn Moore to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Octopi ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Moore told the Ogallala Citizen.
The win takes Ogallala to 3-3.
