Burton Goes Deep Twice, Helps Uruguayans Top Beavers, 4-3
|
The Germantown Uruguayans beat the Northwest Territory Beavers, 4-3, in part because of catcher Philip Burton. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Teddy Robin collected save number 1. The loss drops Northwest Territory to 4-2.
In the top of the third of a scoreless game, Burton hit a 2-run home run to put his team ahead.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Northwest Territory manager Robert Acker.
