Rhinos Squelch Gators Offense in Shutout Win
|
Behind an impressive start by Dean Mangin, Redwood beat North Ft. Myers, 3-0. In 5.1 innings, Mangin surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. North Ft. Myers is 3-2 after the defeat.
Redwood used the timely hitting of Luis Tañón to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rhinos ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It's a mindset," said Mangin. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
