Rocketeers Pick Up 4-0 Win
|
The Seattle Rocketeers got a good effort from starter Virgil Dickerson in defeating the Ft. Worth Cattlemen at Boeing Dome. The final score was 4-0. Ron Mora recorded his 1st save for Seattle. Seattle is now 17-16. Ft. Worth is 17-16.
The Cattlemen had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rocketeers going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old center fielder Bill Miller came to the plate. Miller hit a 2-run home run on a 2-1 fastball from Ft. Worth hurler Chase Davis. It was Miller's 2nd home run of the year.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Dickerson told the Seattle Observer.
