Cajuns Take Down Centennial, 6-5
|
Crowley starter Ted Bottone pitched well against the Fort Knox Centennial at Titans Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-5. Bottone picked up the win for Crowley, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 6-2. Francisco Álvarez was credited with the save for Crowley, his 17th of the season.
The Cajuns took the lead in the bottom of the second when Fernando Mezzatesta banged a two-out single. Crowley had been trailing 1-0, but Mezzatesta hit a full count fastball from Ronald James for a 2-run single.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Crowley manager Neal Davis.
After today's action, Crowley sits at 47-38; Fort Knox slips to 58-27.
