Thrilling Victory Pushes Centennial Win Streak to 9
|
The Athletic Club KC U-21 got a superb performance from pitcher Armando Valentín. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Fort Knox. The Centennial won the game, 6-4. Valentín threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Fort Knox has now won 9 straight.
Alan Douglas dealt the U-21 a blow in the top of the eighth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Fort Knox leading 4-3, Douglas, who is tied for 9th in the PA- in hits with 73, hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Douglas told the Fort Knox News.
