Crowley took on Shady Side in front of a lively crowd.
The Crowley Cajuns got a stellar performance from pitcher Jesús Durán, who handcuffed the Shady Side offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Terriers Ballpark. Durán went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-4. Francisco Álvarez converted his 15th save in 18 tries.
Crowley relied on the hitting of Juan Saucedo to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cajuns on top, 3-0. For the game, Saucedo had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I thought we played a nice game," Saucedo told the Crowley News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Shady Side has now lost 4 straight.
