The exploits of center fielder Ricardo Álvarez, who is tied for 10th in the PA- in total bases with 126, helped the Crowley Cajuns defeat the Hicksville Hounds, 7-2. Álvarez went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Kazuma Komatsu recorded the save for Crowley, his 1st of the season. The 5th-place Cajuns now have a win-loss record of 40-35.

Álvarez contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Crowley get the win.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Álvarez, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
