Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Grey Wolves
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Wolf Den in Vancouver. But Basilio Penni conjured up just enough offense to carry the Grey Wolves past the Toledo Stingers, 3-1. Penni was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. After today's action, Vancouver sits at 15-15, while Toledo falls to 17-13.
In the bottom of the eighth, Penni put his team in front with his 13th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Richello Dosono, made it 3-1, Vancouver.
"Every loss stings," said Toledo manager TJ Reynolds. "This one is no exception."
