Fading Hounds Lose 7th Straight
|
Brent Aspden was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Fort Knox and Hicksville. The Centennial right-hander helped his team beat the Hounds, 2-0. Fort Knox reliever José Díaz was the winner. His record is now 1-3. The losing pitcher was Aad Wapperom. The loss makes Hicksville 16-23.
Had Will Hanson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Hanson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Centennial.
"We'll keep riding this wave as long as we can," said Centennial manager Justin Saginov.
