James King of Fling with No-Hitter
|
Fort Knox is abuzz in the wake of a masterful no-hitter by Ronald James.
The 19-year-old hurler was dominating against the Hicksville Hounds, leading the Centennial to a 9-0 win at Ballpark of Baxter today.
"I could tell early on that it was going to be a long day for us," Hicksville manager Phil Carroll said afterward. "He made us look real bad. He was that good. And still going strong at the end of the game."
James had 6 strikeouts and gave up 4 walks en route to the no-hitter.
"Yeah, this was a special day for me," James said. "I had my good stuff and good movement. Good location, too. Even when I made a mistake, I got away with it today."
So far this season, James has logged a 2-0 record with a 1.38 ERA. He has started 3 games, hurled 32.2 innings and registered 31 strikeouts and 17 walks.
