Athletic Club KC got a strong outing from Jim Ball as the U-21 defeated the Hicksville Hounds, 4-2, at Ballpark of Elkhorn City. Ball picked up the win for Athletic Club KC, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-4. Tanzan Jouda finished to wrap up his 10th save.

The U-21 got an important contribution from left fielder Kichibei Matsumoto, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a fastball into right for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the U-21 ahead, 3-1.

"Jim was able to execute his pitches," said Athletic Club KC manager Wilson López. "Simple as that."

Athletic Club KC now owns a record of 13-16.
