Trash Pandas Pull Off Thrilling 2-0 Win in Extras
|
Watford City got a first-rate effort from pitcher James Little, who frustrated Shady Side hitters en route to a 2-0 Trash Pandas triumph at Terriers Ballpark. Eliot Thompson, 4-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Ijsbert Cornelis nailed down his 2nd save.
Watford City used the clutch hitting of Carl Beggs to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Trash Pandas ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Beggs.
Watford City, at 11-18, occupies last place in the Premier Low A.
