Cajuns Raise Rally Flag, Beat Beaumont, 5-2

The Crowley Cajuns beat the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 5-2. Crowley pitcher and Essex, Vermont, native Brad Pate led the way. Crowley reliever Francisco Álvarez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alfons Neelen was saddled with the loss. Crowley has now won 4 straight.
Had Tom Windus not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Windus hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Cajuns.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Crowley manager Neal Davis.
